STO Peoples Choice Fuel and Lubricants, deals
with the supply and sale of petroleum products
which account for nearly 56% of STO’s sales.
STO Fuel and Lubricants operates from Funadhoo
Island, near Male’ which houses a storage
capacity of 15544 tons of diesel and 600 tons of
Kerosene while petrol is housed in Dhoonidhoo
island which has a storage capacity of up to
1500 tons of Petrol.
An important task of STO Fuel and Lubricants
is the consistent supply of these fuels with
particular emphasis on the supply of Jet A1
aviation fuel to Maldives Airports Company.
With the diversification of STO’s services,
Fuel Supplies Maldives Pvt. Ltd. (FSM) was
established as a joint venture between STO Plc.
and Vara Maldives. Pvt. Ltd. in January 2001.
Since its inception all operations involved in
the distribution of Fuels to the Islands and
consumers in Male’ has been charged under Fuel
Supplies Maldives Pvt. Ltd.
To facilitate for easier refueling of the
storage tanks a new berthing facility was
constructed and opened at Funadhoo Island in
2002. The berth has a length of 40 meters and
could accommodate vessels of 15000 metric tons.
In addition to the storage facilities in
Male’ atoll STO Fuels and Lubricants also has
storage facilities in Gan Island in Seenu Atoll
with capacities to hold 1000 tons of diesel, 120
tons of petrol and 40 tons of kerosene.
Presently a new pipeline is being constructed
in Funadhoo as a measure of further improving
their services. |
